River Valley High School Alumni Association (the “Alumni”) makes this website (the “Site”) available to you for your personal information. Please feel free to browse and otherwise use the Site. By accessing and using the Site, you accept and agree to the following terms of use (“Terms of Use”) without limitation or qualification. If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, please do not use the Site. 

USE OF THE SITE

You agree to use the Site only for the purposes that are permitted by these Terms of Use and any applicable laws and regulations.

The Site and all related content, and any and all intellectual property rights (including all copyright, patents, trademarks, service marks, rights in design, software and the “look and feel” of the Site and any adaptions and modifications thereof) in the foregoing (collectively, “Content”), shall at all times remain the exclusive property of the Alumni.

The Alumni grants you a limited license to access and make personal use of the Site, but not to download or modify any portion of it without the express written consent of the Alumni. Any use of the Site that exceeds the rights expressly granted in these Terms of Use is strictly prohibited and constitutes a violation of these Terms of Use. Without limitation to the foregoing, you shall not license, republish, distribute, copy, assign, sublicense, transfer, sell, reverse-engineer, disassemble, de-compile, or prepare derivatives works from the Site and any software comprised in the Site or make any other non-personal use of any Content.

The Site has been prepared for information purposes only and does not constitute any solicitation or offer, or advice or recommendation, to engage in any transaction. 

You agree not to access (or attempt to access) the Site by any means other than your browser or through the interface that is provided by us. You also agree that you will not engage in any activity that:

  1. interferes with or disrupts any user’s access to the Site or the Site (or the servers and networks which are connected to the Site);
  2. remove, circumvent, disable, damage or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Site;
  3. damages any other person or business entity; or
  4. contravenes any applicable law (including any laws relating to publicity, privacy rights, defamation and obscenity).

You further agree not to:

  1. use any automated systems (e.g., bots, spider, etc.) for the purpose of, or conduct any activities in relation to the monitoring, mining, harvesting, extracting, copying, or compiling information on the Site for any reason; or
  2. conduct any commercial activities including any selling, promoting, advertising or related arrangements in relation to the Site or Content without the explicit consent of the Alumni.

The Alumni retains the right to deny access to this Site to anyone without notice at its complete discretion for any reason, including for violation of any of these Terms of Use, including any associated rights of use.

YOUR ACCOUNT

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.

If you post comments or other content on the Site, you are must ensure that such content is not illegal, obscene, defamatory, in infringement of intellectual property right, or otherwise objectional in any manner, and does not contain software viruses, Trojans, worms, time bombs or other injurious computer programs.

If you do post content or submit material via the Site, you grant the Alumni and the School a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content throughout the world in any media. You grant the Alumni and the School and sublicensees the right to use the name that you submit in connection with such content, if they choose. You represent and warrant that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to the content that you post; that the content is accurate; that use of the content you supply does not violate this policy and will not cause injury to any person or entity; and that you will indemnify the Alumni or the School for all claims resulting from content you supply. The Alumni has the right but not the obligation to monitor and edit or remove any activity or content. The Alumni takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any content posted by you or any third party.

MEMBERSHIP PERKS

This Site may include references to products and services that are provided by third parties (“Perks Partners”), for example, as part of membership perks. While the Alumni has used reasonable efforts to ascertain the legitimacy of such products, services and perks, the Alumni is not an agent of the Perks Partners. Any dispute regarding the quality or service standard, or terms and conditions relevant to the perks, must be resolved directly with the Perks Partner. The Alumni disclaims all liability in relation to such perks, products and services, including without limitation, in relation to continued validity of perks, quality or products and services etc.

The Alumni advises members to be prudent about sharing of personal data. The Perks Partners are not agents or representatives of the Alumni; any collection of personal data by Perks Partners is strictly for their own purposes, for which the Alumni is not responsible.

The Site may include links to other websites that are completely independent of this site. The Alumni does not control or endorse such websites and is not responsible for their products, services or content, nor is it responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any information, data, opinions, advice, or statements contained within such websites.

NO WARRANTIES

THIS SITE AND ALL CONTENT CONTAINED IN THIS SITE ARE PROVIDED TO YOU “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR THE WARRANTY OF TITLE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. ALTHOUGH ANTOM USES REASONABLE EFFORTS TO INCLUDE ACCURATE AND UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION ON THE SITE, THE ALUMNI MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS AS TO ITS ACCURACY AND ASSUMES NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN THE CONTENT OF THE SITE. ANTOM MAY CHANGE ANY OF THE INFORMATION, CONTENT, SERVICES, PROGRAMMES AND TECHNOLOGY DESCRIBED IN THE SITE WITHOUT NOTICE.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

YOUR USE OF THE SITE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL THE ALUMNI, OR ANY OF ITS OFFICERS, PARTNERS, EMPLOYEES OR REPRESENTATIVES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT OR INDIRECT LOSSES OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR MISUSE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT OR SERVICES RELATED TO THE SITE. 

IF YOU ARE DISSATISFIED WITH THE SITE OR CONTENT OR WITH THESE TERMS OF USE, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS TO DISCONTINUE USING THE SITE OR THE CONTENT.

MODIFICATIONS TO THE TERMS

The Alumni reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, or update these Terms of Use without prior notice. Modifications shall become effective immediately upon being posted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after modifications are posted constitutes an acknowledgement and acceptance of these Terms of Use and its modifications.

GOVERNING LAW

This Terms of Use shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to the conflict of laws principles that would result in the application of the laws of another jurisdiction.
